How to connect MSG91 ?

Link your MSG91 account using your Authkey and approved sender ID.
  • Go to WooCommerce → SMS Settings and select MSG91.
  • Log in to your MSG91 dashboard.
  • Copy your Authkey and your approved Sender ID.
  • Paste both into SMS For WooCommerce Settings.
  • Save changes.
How to get your MSG91 API Key:
  • Login into your MSG91 account.
  • Go to Dashboard and copy your Authkey and Sender ID.
  • You will have to enter Authkey and Sender ID in SMS Settings.
How to get your MSG91 phone number:
  • Go to Sender id and copy your Sender ID that you will enter in your General Settings as the Sender phone number.

Coverage and DLT sender ID registration

MSG91 is an India-focused communication platform, and this plugin’s MSG91 integration includes a dedicated DLT (Distributed Ledger Technology) option in WooCommerce → SMS Settings for exactly this reason. If you send to Indian mobile numbers, TRAI requires your sender ID and message template to be registered on the DLT platform before delivery will succeed — enable the DLT option in the plugin only after your sender ID and template are approved, and make sure your message text matches the approved template exactly.

Test your connection

  • After saving your MSG91 Authkey and Sender ID, use the Send Test SMS option on the settings screen.
  • Send a test message to an Indian mobile number you control and confirm delivery.
  • If it fails, check the Troubleshooting section below.

Troubleshooting

  • Message rejected with a DLT/template mismatch error: your DLT template ID isn’t registered, or the sent text doesn’t exactly match the approved template (including punctuation and variable placeholders).
  • Invalid Authkey error: the Authkey is regenerated when reset in MSG91 — re-copy the current one from your dashboard.
  • Test message never arrives: check your MSG91 account balance; sends fail silently once credit runs out.
  • Sender ID rejected: MSG91 sender IDs are typically 6 alphanumeric characters and must be pre-approved — a new, unapproved sender ID will be rejected.
