How to connect Fast2SMS ?

Set up Fast2SMS for transactional notifications using your API authorization key.
  • Go to WooCommerce → SMS Settings and select Fast2SMS.
  • Log in to your Fast2SMS account and open Dashboard → Dev API.
  • Copy your API Authorization Key.
  • Return to SMS For WooCommerce Settings and paste the API key.
  • Enter the sender phone number provided by Fast2SMS.
  • Save your changes.
How to get your Fast2SMS API Key:
  • Login into your Fast2SMS account.
  • Go to Dashboard > Dev API and copy your API Authorization Key.
  • You will have to enter the API key in your SMS Settings.

Coverage and DLT sender ID registration

Fast2SMS is an India-focused bulk SMS gateway; its numbers and sender routes are built around Indian telecom regulations rather than international delivery. If you are sending transactional SMS to Indian phone numbers, India’s TRAI regulations require your sender ID and message template to be registered through DLT (Distributed Ledger Technology) before Fast2SMS will deliver the message — this is a real, separate registration step with Fast2SMS/your telecom operator, not something you configure inside this plugin. Once your DLT sender ID and template are approved, enter that approved sender ID as your Sender phone number in the plugin settings.

Test your connection

  • After saving your Fast2SMS API key and sender ID, use the Send Test SMS option on the settings screen.
  • Send a test message to an Indian mobile number you control and confirm it arrives.
  • If it fails, check the Troubleshooting section below — DLT-related rejections are the most common cause.

Troubleshooting

  • Message rejected with a DLT/template error: your sender ID or message template isn’t registered (or doesn’t exactly match the approved template text) on the DLT platform.
  • Invalid API key error: re-copy the Authorization Key from Dashboard → Dev API — it’s regenerated if you reset it, which invalidates the old one.
  • Test message never arrives: check your Fast2SMS wallet balance; sends silently fail once your balance is exhausted.
  • Works for some numbers but not others: Fast2SMS’s DND (Do Not Disturb) filtering can block promotional-route messages to DND-registered numbers — use the DLT/transactional route instead.
