Connect your ProSMS account using your API key and sender name.
- Go to WooCommerce → SMS Settings and select ProSMS.
- Log in to ProSMS and go to Settings → API.
- Copy your API key and Sender Name/Number.
- Return to SMS For WooCommerce Settings and enter the API key and Sender details.
- Save your changes.
How to get your ProSMS API Key:
- Login to your ProSMS account.
- Go to ProSMS Settings > API and copy your API key.
How to get your ProSMS phone number:
- Go to Sender Name and copy your Sender name/number.
- Enter the API key and Sender name in your SMS Settings.
Coverage and Sender ID requirements
ProSMS is a Sweden-based SMS service, so it’s best suited to sending within Sweden and the wider Nordic/EU region. Many EU countries, including Sweden, require alphanumeric sender names to be pre-registered with the operator before messages will deliver reliably — register your Sender Name in ProSMS ahead of going live rather than relying on an unregistered name.
Test your connection
- After saving your ProSMS API key and Sender Name, use the Send Test SMS option on the settings screen.
- Send a test message to a number you control and confirm delivery.
- If it fails, check the Troubleshooting section below.
Troubleshooting
- Invalid API key error: re-copy the key from ProSMS Settings → API — regenerating it invalidates the previous value.
- Sender name rejected: the sender name isn’t registered/whitelisted on your ProSMS account yet.
- Test message never arrives: check your ProSMS account balance; sends fail silently once credit is exhausted.
- Works domestically but not for other countries: ProSMS is optimized for Nordic/EU delivery — check ProSMS’s own coverage list before sending further afield.
