This guide walks you through integrating Cin7 with Advanced Shipment Tracking (AST) PRO, allowing you to automate tracking number updates and streamline fulfillment in your WooCommerce store.

🔄 How the Integration Works

When an order is fulfilled in Cin7, it sends the tracking details back to WooCommerce by adding a note to the order. This note includes:

  • The tracking number
  • The shipping carrier
  • A tracking link (if provided)

Cin7 also updates the order status to Completed. However, the tracking information is stored only in the order note, and is not applied to the WooCommerce tracking fields by default.

AST PRO enhances this process by:

  • Automatically detecting and extracting the tracking number and carrier from the WooCommerce order note
  • Saving the data to AST’s Shipment Tracking Order Meta
  • (Optional) Updating the order status to Shipped
  • Triggering a shipping confirmation email that includes AST’s tracking widget
  • Showing the tracking info on the My Account > View Order page

This automation eliminates the need to manually re-enter tracking data into WooCommerce.

⚙️ How to Enable the Integration

  1. Install and activate AST PRO
  2. Go to WooCommerce > Shipment Tracking > Integrations
  3. Enable the Cin7 integration
  4. (Optional) Enable Auto-complete shipped orders – AST will automatically update the status to Shipped when tracking is added

🧩 Carrier Name Mapping (Avoid Missing Tracking Links)

Cin7 may use carrier names that don’t exactly match AST’s internal list. If the name isn’t mapped, the tracking link may not appear correctly in the customer email.

🔧 How to Map Carrier Names

  1. Navigate to WooCommerce > Shipment Tracking > Shipping Carriers
  2. Click Edit on the relevant carrier (e.g., DHL, FedEx, Australia Post)
  3. In the Custom API Name field, enter the exact carrier name as sent by Cin7 (e.g., DHL Express, Fastway)
  4. Use the ➕ icon to add multiple name variants if needed
  5. Click Update to save changes

This ensures tracking links are generated correctly in customer emails and order pages.

  • Review order notes regularly to verify that Cin7’s tracking data is consistent
  • Keep your carrier name mappings updated to ensure tracking links work as expected
  • Test your workflow using a real or test order to confirm tracking is being captured
  • Disable duplicate emails by adjusting WooCommerce’s email settings if needed

⚠️ Important: AST does not generate shipping labels. Cin7 handles label generation and fulfillment. AST PRO’s role is to extract tracking info from order notes and automate shipping notifications and tracking visibility for your customers.
