Getting Started

Requirements

Before installing Zorem Local Pickup, make sure the following are in place:

  • WordPress is installed and running
  • WooCommerce is installed and active
  • WooCommerce Local Pickup shipping method is enabled in at least one shipping zone
Note
The WooCommerce Local Pickup shipping method is the foundation this plugin builds on. If it is not already enabled, go to WooCommerce > Settings > Shipping, open the relevant shipping zone, and add the Local Pickup method.

How to Enable the WooCommerce Local Pickup Shipping Method

If you have not yet enabled the built-in WooCommerce Local Pickup method, here is how:

WooCommerce → Settings → Shipping
  • Click on the shipping zone — you want to apply pickup to (e.g. your country or region).
  • Click Add shipping method.
  • Select Local Pickup from the list — and click Add shipping method.
  • Click Save changes.

How to Install the Plugin (Method 1: From WordPress Admin Search)

This is the easiest method — no file download needed.

WordPress Admin → Plugins → Add New
  • In your WordPress admin — go to Plugins → Add New.
  • In the search field, type: — Zorem Local Pickup
  • Find the plugin called “Zorem Local Pickup” by Zorem — in the search results.
  • Click Install Now.
  • Once installed, click Activate.
  • After activation — find the plugin settings under WooCommerce → Local Pickup.

How to Install the Plugin (Method 2: From a .zip File)

Use this method if you downloaded the plugin .zip file from WordPress.org.

WordPress Admin → Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin
  • Download the plugin .zip file — from the plugin page on WordPress.org.
  • In your WordPress admin — go to Plugins → Add New.
  • Click Upload Plugin — at the top of the page.
  • Click Choose File — and select the .zip file you downloaded.
  • Click Install Now.
  • Click Activate Plugin.

How to Access the Plugin Settings

Once the plugin is activated, all settings are accessible from a single location in your WordPress admin:

WooCommerce → Local Pickup

You will find four tabs inside the Local Pickup settings screen:

  • Settings — Display options, custom order statuses, and email notifications
  • Pickup Location — Name, address, business hours, and special instructions for your store
  • Customize — Edit and manage email templates for different statuses
  • (Upgrade prompts for PRO features are shown inline but do not affect Free functionality)
