Website Brain

The Website Brain is your shop’s written knowledge. It is where the chat looks things up instead of guessing: your returns and shipping pages, a plain-English summary of your WooCommerce settings, and what each installed plugin does. Both the shopping assistant and the store assistant answer from it.

AI Shopping Assistant → Website Brain
If you also run AI Agent OS, the Website Brain lives under that menu instead, and AI Shopping Assistant links to it. The two plugins share one Brain — the same knowledge, the same reading rules and the same AI provider. Nothing else is shared between them.
Without an active AI Shopping Assistant license the Brain is not started by this plugin, and neither assistant can read it. Nothing in it is deleted. If you also run AI Agent OS with its own active license, the Brain keeps working under that menu for its agents.

Why It Matters

Almost every “the chat does not know about my returns policy” comes down to the Brain. The chat can only quote what is in it. Adding your policy page here is usually the difference between a useful answer and “I could not find anything about that”.

What It Holds

SourceWhat it gives the chat
Your pagesThe pages and posts you tick — FAQ, shipping, returns, size charts. Quoted to shoppers word for word.
Store settingsWhere you sell and ship, shipping costs, currency and checkout rules, as one plain-English entry that updates itself when you save WooCommerce settings.
Installed pluginsWhat each active plugin does, read from its own files. Their code is never run.
Bundled documentationReady-made notes for large plugins such as WooCommerce, included with the plugin.

Choose Your Store Policies

On the Overview tab, pick which page is your Terms & conditions, Refunds & returns and Privacy policy. The choice is saved into WooCommerce’s own settings, so the chat answers from the same page your checkout links to.

WooCommerce creates a draft Refund and Returns Policy page during setup. A draft page cannot be read by shoppers or by the chat — publish it, or the returns question stays unanswered.

Add Your Own Pages

  • In the Add another page card, tick the pages and posts that hold answers shoppers ask for.
  • Use Search pages and Show selected only to find and review your choice.
  • Click Save selection.

Only published pages without a password are accepted. Once chosen, a page keeps itself up to date: editing it updates the knowledge at once, and unpublishing or trashing it takes it out. The In your own words list shows the start of each chosen page exactly as the chat will read it.

If answers look out of date, click Read everything again on the Overview. Your settings, pages and bundled documentation are read again at once, and plugins over the next few minutes.

What the Shopping Assistant May Read

AI Shopping Assistant → Settings → Knowledge

The Brain holds everything; the Knowledge section decides how much of it shoppers get. Tick the kinds of knowledge the shopping assistant may quote — manuals, FAQs, overviews and shortcode help are allowed to start with. Only shopper-facing kinds are offered, so you cannot expose something meant for administrators by mistake.

Entries

The Entries tab lists every piece of knowledge, with filters by source, section and status. Click View to read exactly what an assistant would get. Only entries marked IN USE are read; an entry from a deactivated plugin is kept but ignored.

When the store assistant answers, it cites the entries it used, with a link straight into this screen.

Safety

  • Knowledge is quoted, never obeyed. It reaches an assistant marked as quoted text, so an instruction written inside one of your pages — such as cancel all orders — is repeated back, not acted on.
  • Secrets are removed before any text leaves your site.
  • Refused reads are logged. When an assistant asks for knowledge it is not allowed, the refusal appears on the Activity tab as Website Brain.
