Without an AI Provider
With no AI provider set up, or when the shop’s daily AI limit is used up, the chat still answers. It finds products in your catalogue and quotes your own pages and store settings, word for word. It never writes or guesses, so it cannot make up a price, a discount or a delivery date.
| The shopper asks | The chat |
|---|---|
| For a product (“do you have hoodies?”) | Shows matching products as cards. |
| About a policy (“what is your return policy?”) | Quotes the page that answers it, naming it. |
| About delivery, payment or tax | Quotes your store settings. |
| About their order | Points them to the order email and My account. |
| To change the basket | Explains that they can use Add to basket on the product. |
Languages
Without AI, the chat understands questions in English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese and Dutch: greetings, policy questions, product requests, order questions, requests for a person and returns. A shop can get questions in any of them.
With an AI provider, the assistant replies in the language the shopper writes in.
On a multilingual shop (for example with WPML or Polylang), the chat’s own messages follow the language of the page the shopper is on, when that language is installed in WordPress.
