The Recommendations panel picks out the countries most worth your attention in the selected period and ranks them by opportunity. Each row names the country, the signal that flagged it, and a suggested next step.
This panel works even without an API key. The countries are chosen by a scoring calculation that runs on your own server. An AI key only changes the wording of the suggested action — with no key you still get the full ranked list, using built-in wording.
The four signals

| High value, low volume | Average order value at least 1.4× your store average, with order volume in the bottom quarter of your busiest country. | Customers there spend well above average but there are few of them — usually the clearest case for more marketing spend. |

| Sharp drop | Sales down 25% or more against the previous period. | Worth investigating — shipping rates, stock, tax settings or a payment method may have changed. |

Countries with fewer than three orders in the period are ignored, so a single order does not produce a recommendation.
What each row shows

Recommendations are suggestions, not instructions. They are based only on the sales figures in the selected period — they know nothing about your margins, stock, shipping costs or marketing plans. Treat them as a shortlist of things to look at.
Tuning the thresholds
Developers can adjust the cut-offs with the srbc_opportunity_thresholds filter — the average order value multiple, the low-volume fraction, the minimum order count, and the percentage moves that count as a rise or a drop.
Like the rest of the report, recommendations follow your selected date range and country type. A short range gives you a short, noisy comparison — a month or more usually produces steadier signals.
